CURRENT ISSUE

Dear Friends,

It is my great pleasure to present to you St. Petersburg: The Arts, Culture and Tourism Russian-Canadian Magazine - a magical name that attracts people interested in the arts and culture from every corner of the globe.

It is becoming increasingly evident that the current ongoing fascination with the world of Russian art and culture is more than just a passing international trend. This, coupled with the ever-growing disillusionment with the yellow press, made our magazine a unique project within the not-so-densely populated sphere of Canada’s arts and culture-dedicated media. We consider the task of preserving and passing our cultural and aesthetic traditions to the upcoming generations to be one of the main purposes of our publication.

The international periodical, St Petersburg Magazine, is the only English-Russian bilingual Arts & Cultural publication in existence today. With articles printed side by side on its pages in both languages and accompanied by beautiful images and photographs, St. Petersburg Magazineis in high demand throughout Canada as well as in many cities in the U.S., Europe and Russia. The final product, a first-rate glossy magazine containing relevant, original and in-depth articles discussing the world of Russian art and culture, is a source of great pride for me, and I consider it to be a great success of the professional team whose dedicated work brings it into being.

We continuously make an extra effort to ensure specialized circulation of our magazine. From the first issue that saw light in June 2006, St. Petersburg Magazinehas enjoyed a constant presence at the Embassy and Consulates of the Russian Federation in Canada; it was present on the Vancouver Olympics-2010; and it has been traveling the globe in style aboard the world-famous Kruzenshtern, a tall-masted ship which regularly hosts numerous high-profile guests, including many foreign dignitaries from various countries. We have managed to increase our mailed circulation in Canadian as well as Russian business circles, and the magazine’s circulation in Toronto theatres and museums, business offices, Russian departments of Canadian universities, libraries and artistic institutions also continues to grow. One of the regular and most popular features of our magazine is its interviews with prominent politicians and entertainment personalities, successful business people and talented artists, sculptors, and writers.

Our contributors are journalists and designers with tremendous professional scope and education. We are not a fly-by-night publication. We know for a fact that every issue of the St Petersburg Magazine is preserved, read and re-read, and passed from one person to the next.

We invite you to join the ever-growing fan club of St. Petersburg Magazine, Canada.

Sincerely,

Sophia Dmitrieva-Tovmassian
